In desperation, we called Claire to help with our 5 year old gelding who had had 3 previous owners by the time he was two and a half. He had developed a dominance issue at every possible opportunity, taking hold of the lead rope in his teeth and then developing that into throwing a very spectacular tantrum, with snorting, pawing, rearing and squealing. After the first session Claire recognised that the horse had not been properly trained as a youngster, compounded by lack of consistency in training since we have had him. Going right back to basics, we have been working on the foundations calmly and consistently, working on pressure and release, head lowering and sending him away if he starts to get wound up. It’s taking some months, but by following Claire’s clear and calm approach, we are seeing real results. We can thoroughly recommend Claire as a teacher for both you and your horse if you have faith and stick with the exercises she gives you, no matter how long it takes.
